Dance and choreography leaves traces on your body, and they are often physical and concrete: growing muscles or the trauma of injuries. But the repetition and memory of movements also leave traces. The choreographies of the past continue to dwell in the dancer’s body. In the solo Body of Work, Daniel Linehan explores these traces in his own body.
In their improvisation, choreographer Charlotte Vanden Eynde and double bass player Nicolas Rombouts explore the power and vulnerability of creating in the here and now. For Rombouts playing music is instant composition, for Vanden Eynde dancing is thinking. In Hyphen they become two parts of the same brain and explore the tension between intuition and mental control.
In their sensitive duet Jeanne Colin and Killian Madeleine go in search of an anchorage – in themselves and in each other. Their stability is constantly put to the test by the soft clay floor on which they move. An ode to the fragility and strength of the body.
In their very first performance together, dancers Dan Mussett and Laurent Delom go in search of the perfect symbiosis. What happens when two individuals give up their individuality for a unity that transcends them? In a playful exploration of what it means to become a person’s teacher, shadow, friend, rival, mirror, brother or colleague, all boundaries are slowly fading away.
